Installing Rails on Ubuntu

Just so I don’t forget – the steps I need to take to get Rails up and running on Ubuntu Server.

Log in as root.

# apt-get update
# apt-get install curl
# gpg –keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net –recv-keys  409B6B1796C275462A1703113804BB82D39DC0E3
# \curl -sSL https://get.rvm.io | bash
# \curl -L https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable –ruby
# source /usr/local/rvm/scripts/rvm
# rvm get stable –autolibs=enable
# rvm install ruby-2.2.3
# sudo apt-get install nodejs
# gem update –system
# rvm gemset use global
# gem install bundler
# gem install nokogiri
# apt-get install ruby-dev
# apt-get install build-essential
# apt-get install build-essential bison openssl libreadline6 libreadline6-dev curl git-core zlib1g zlib1g-dev libssl-dev libyaml-dev libxml2-dev autoconf libc6-dev ncurses-dev automake libtool
# apt-get install libgmp-dev
# sudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev
# gem install rails
# apt-get install postgresql postgresql-contrib
# apt-get install libpq-dev
# gem install pg -v ‘0.18.33’
# sudo apt-get -y install apache2 php5-mysql php5 libapache2-mod-php5 php5-mcrypt
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 561F9B9CAC40B2F7
# apt-get install postgres-xc-client
# apt-get install postgres-xc
